Before you send a US order, check TikTok Shop shipping requirements and find the route your account can use in Seller Center. Then check who handles the parcel, what you must provide, and the dispatch rules for that route.
With Seller Shipping, the seller picks a provider supported by TikTok Shop. The route may be limited to selected sellers. TikTok Shipping uses a provider listed in Seller Center. With Fulfilled by TikTok, or FBT, TikTok warehouses handle storage, picking, packing, and shipping. Each route changes who does the work. Check your account’s eligibility and the current rules.
TikTok Shop shipping requirements depend on the route available for your account and order. The names are not simply three labels for the same handoff. They affect who packs the goods, how a shipping provider is selected, and how tracking information is supplied.
TikTok’s US policy describes Seller Shipping, TikTok Shipping, and FBT. It says Seller Shipping may be available only to selected sellers. Sellers using Seller Shipping or TikTok Shipping are responsible for secure packing and labeling; FBT orders are not subject to those seller packaging requirements.

For Seller Shipping, the seller chooses a provider supported by TikTok Shop. For TikTok Shipping, the provider comes from those listed in Seller Center. For FBT, the warehouse handles the named storage and fulfillment steps. Do not assume that a route is available merely because the policy describes it.
Each route also leaves a seller with decisions to verify. A seller who packs an order must follow the applicable packing and labeling rules. A seller considering FBT should check the available program details and the economics for the actual product. None of these checks can be resolved by looking at the name of a carrier or at a different seller’s setup.
The table follows one hypothetical item a seller wants to send to a buyer. It does not say that all routes are open to that seller, that the item qualifies for FBT, or that a particular provider can carry it. Check the actual order and account before you act.
| Route for the hypothetical parcel | Who handles the work described in the policy | What the seller checks or supplies |
|---|---|---|
| Seller Shipping | The seller is responsible for secure packing and labeling and chooses a TikTok Shop-supported provider. | Check account eligibility and current rules; provide the tracking ID, provider, and service information. |
| TikTok Shipping | The seller is responsible for secure packing and labeling; the provider is listed in Seller Center. | Check the available route and current rules; Arrange Shipment updates tracking automatically. |
| FBT | FBT warehouses handle storage, picking, packing, and shipping. FBT orders are not subject to the seller packaging requirements above. | Check program availability and the requirements that apply to the product and account. |

For the sample parcel, first find out which route the account and order can use. Then trace the work in the table: pack and label the item where required, supply tracking where required, and check the dispatch time that applies.
The table does not assign a carrier or a universal deadline. It also does not replace the detailed policy for a particular item. A seller should check the live requirements and the information shown for the order before committing the parcel to a route.
Under Seller Shipping, the seller selects a provider supported by TikTok Shop. The policy also notes that the route may be limited to selected sellers. Check Seller Center first so that your plan matches what the account is permitted to use.
With Seller Shipping, the seller must pack and label the parcel safely. The seller also gives the tracking ID, provider, and service details. Keep both tasks in your order process. Picking a supported provider does not remove the need to supply tracking details.
For this made-up parcel, assume the account can use Seller Shipping. The seller checks the supported provider, packs and labels the parcel under the rules, and gives the required tracking details. This example names no provider and does not assume a service is accepted. Check the current account and policy for those details.
Before the parcel leaves, compare the order with the shipping details you plan to submit. Picking a provider and sending tracking details are separate tasks. Record what you have supplied and resolve any open issue in Seller Center under the current rules.
TikTok Shipping uses a provider listed in Seller Center. The seller must pack and label the parcel securely. The policy says Arrange Shipment updates tracking automatically. With Seller Shipping, the seller provides tracking details.
For this made-up example, assume the parcel can use TikTok Shipping. The seller checks the provider in Seller Center, packs and labels the item as required, and follows the shipment flow. A tracking update on its own does not confirm that every other order rule has been met.
After arranging shipment, review the order and resolve any issue shown in the account. That review does not guarantee a successful handoff or a tracking event at a set time. The live order and current policy show what remains to be done.
FBT warehouses handle storage, picking, packing, and shipping. The policy says FBT orders are not subject to the seller packaging requirements that apply to Seller Shipping and TikTok Shipping. That distinction matters when you compare the work your team must perform for each route.
For the sample parcel, first check whether the seller and item can use FBT. Then compare it with the other routes. The warehouse work alone does not show whether FBT is available, what it costs, or whether it fits the product.
The work and the costs are separate decisions. Once the route and its rules are clear, consider whether the costs and workflow fit your business. To do that, evaluate the economics of an FBT pilot using figures for your own account and product.
TikTok's US policy requires tracking within the dispatch service-level agreement that applies. One deadline may not cover every order. Check the current SLA for your route and order in Seller Center and the current policy.
For Seller Shipping, check that you have supplied the required tracking ID, provider, and service details. For TikTok Shipping, follow the applicable Arrange Shipment flow. Check the order after tracking updates automatically. For FBT, check the order status and program rules; do not assume the steps for a seller-packed parcel apply.
A handoff note can be short. Name the order, confirmed route, timing that applies, owner of each remaining step, and place to check tracking. If a field is unknown, mark it for review. An open question is safer than a guessed deadline or provider.
When comparing the route with the wider business process, review the broader seller workflow. Keep the private order details in Seller Center as the source for the actual dispatch decision.
Before dispatch, ask four questions. Is this route available for the account and order? Who is responsible for packing and labeling? How is tracking supplied or updated? What current dispatch SLA applies? Resolve each answer from the current account and policy, then complete the remaining steps for that route.
Before the handoff, make sure the person packing the order knows the confirmed route and where to find its instructions. If someone else handles tracking, share the order reference and the relevant deadline. This gives each person a clear task without assuming they use the same carrier or account settings.
Use the route comparison to plan the handoff, not as a promise that all orders follow the same path. If the account screen and your plan do not match, resolve the gap before sending the parcel. Once the route is clear, consider how your team will handle a return.
Next, review the return handoff.
